Louis Sauter


Louis Sauter was born in the United States, but has lived most of his life in France. He is both a musician and a (now retired) engineer, and began his scientific career performing research in speech processing and multimedia, before evolving towards management and consulting.

He has composed over fifty works for solo instruments, voice, chamber ensembles and symphonic orchestra. His compositions have been recorded and performed by professional musicians in concert halls as well as by students in music schools, throughout Europe as well as in the USA, Canada, Brazil, Chile, Nigeria and Japan.

His Suite carpatique was an official selection of the 5th Coups de Vents International Composition Competition. His Suite pour harpe made the finals of the 2016 Future Blend competition. The One Minute album, including his Trois miniatures pour flûte, won a double Silver medal at the Global Music Awards 2017. His trio Las bodas de Helena features in the soundtrack of short Argentina by R.B. Lima. His Tristan im Mondschein, part of the 250 piano pieces for Beethoven project, was published by Musica Ferrum in 2018.
